In a sport where it takes more than just raw talent to win races and the community’s hearts, only a handful of names in the modern era of NASCAR can compete with Kyle Larson. The man who found himself in a sticky situation only three years ago has made immense strides to redeem himself. And not just as a formidable force on the track, but as a man of the people when he’s off the track too.

Since that fateful day in I-Racing, the No.5 Hendrick Motorsports driver has turned his mindset around for the better, gaining popularity for his charitable ventures. Recently, the news about the Drive for 5 campaign sent the fans scrambling to help their community through a noble cause planned by Larson. And the reward for being a good samaritan?

Larson and HendrickCars.com are hosting a sweepstakes giveaway for a breathtaking Chevy Colorado Z71, decked out with a custom Kyle Larson theme. The truck features an all-black paint scheme with red stitching. In true KL fashion, the Chevy Colorado in question doesn’t just look good but comes loaded. It has features such as a premium Bose audio system, 20″ Fuel wheels, and 33″ Nitto Tires. The truck is also equipped with a 2″ suspension lift. This makes it the perfect ride for hauling the family from one track to another.

When Kyle Larson revealed his Drive for 5 venture, it included a plan to facilitate the education of five Urban Youth Racing School students in Philadelphia with annual scholarships. Larson’s Foundation is also supporting local families with daily meals with the help of the Sanneh Foundation, an organization run by the soccer icon, Tony Sanneh. The charity had set a goal of amassing $500,000 in donations. It now looks like the NASCAR community is wasting no time to reach that target.

The number 5 driver took to Twitter to share an update on the giveaway, Last week to enter to win this custom @HendrickCars Chevy Colorado”. He also shared the promo code ‘Colorado’ which fans can use to get an additional 30% entries till the end of the campaign. Kyle Larson was optimistic about the event’s progress so far and wished the best of luck to all those entering the sweepstakes.

Thank you for your support and good luck!” His HMS teammate Alex Bowman also helped promote the sweepstakes on Twitter, asking his fans if any of them were ‘In the market for a new Chevy?”

Larson is one of the leading philanthropists in the sport in 2023. But it has been a long and tumultuous journey for the No.5 speedster after the 2020 incident.

But when Hendrick Motorsports gave Larson the chance he was waiting for, he wasted no time in making amends. He started off by meeting athletics legend and women’s rights activist Jackie Joyner-Kersee. However, it was not an easy task. “I lost a lot of hope about making it back, and I didn’t know what the meeting was going to be about. I had thoughts of what it would be about, and it was ultimately what I thought it was going to be.”

He reflected on how his philanthropic ventures have benefitted his growth as a person, “I have a whole new perspective on my life, as well as other people’s lives,”  Kyle Larson was quoted by Forbes. “I grew up through it all.
