In a lighthearted showdown, Hendrick Motorsports drivers Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman took a break from the high-speed thrills of the racetracks to engage in a fun and subtly competitive game of diecast shuffleboard! You would expect the teammates to be a little more cordial with each other but these two expressed some playful rivalry that was hidden beneath the surface as they challenged each other for the title of shuffleboard champion.
The questions came fast and covered everything from William Byron’s first win to how many races Kyle Larson won in 2021. And while both drivers were competitive and showcased their NASCAR expertise, but can you guess which driver knew more about the sport’s history?

Known for their fierce competition on the tracks, where they often push each other to the limits, the two HMR drivers offered a humorous glimpse into their camaraderie off the tracks through the short game of Diecast Shuffleboard. Where each player is asked a trivia question about NASCAR’s history.
During the game, Alex Bowman’s knack for trivia gleamed through as he answered questions about Hendrick Motorsports’ history and the racing legends that came before them. Meanwhile, Chase Elliott was not as accurate with his memory skills as he is behind the wheel but he still held his own, often matching Bowman’s answers but most times he missed the mark.
They expressed humor and some logic while trying to give the right answers to each question. In some cases, they would have the same answer, but in most, Bowman was the one to come up victorious. The only time these two competitors were on the same page was ironically when they were asked about HMR’s first-ever win in NASCAR, to which both drivers gave the wrong answer. To which Bowman responded with a casual, “Why are you looking at me like that? I’m supposed to know it?” You’d think they would both remember when their own team won its first race.
Trust us, they actually wanted to play this game…

Ultimately once all the questions were solved, the scoreboard read that Alex Bowman got 12 answers right, while Chase Elliott got only seven, proving that when it comes to trivia, Bowman had the upper hand. Maybe Bowman will gloat about this a little more the next time he sees Elliott, but for now, the playoffs are around the corner and their time to rest is coming to an end. Are these drivers ready to now showcase their driving skills when they’re competing on the tracks as well?

While Bowman did face a few bumps in the road with a few poor finishes and DNFs to his name, he still managed to claw his way back to the top and is now placed 10th in the playoffs list with a score of 606. And Elliott, ever the powerful driver has been making waves as he wins and finishes amongst the top 10 in the races, which puts him in the 2nd position in the playoffs with a score of 739! Rick Hendrick must be really proud of his drivers, eh?
But at the end of the day, these two are a couple of the top dogs in NASCAR, and they know it. It may not be a game of shuffleboard but when they strap into those cars, it’s game on! And you can bet they’re both gunning for that championship trophy this season, even if they have to go through each other to get it. It’s gonna be one heck of a show, that’s for sure! So who are you supporting from the HMS team?
