Dale Earnhardt Jr has been seen returning slowly to the racing scene, even though in a limited capacity, his love for late-model cars remains inevitable. Junior recently announced that he would be racing in late model again at the Florence Motor Speedway, a track he hasn’t been on since 1996. After announcing the same on Twitter, he almost sent out a cryptic tweet about another NASCAR legend’s participation in the upcoming race.

Junior’s initial tweet read, “I haven’t raced at @FlorenceMSpdwy since 1996. I’ll be there Nov 19 to qualify for the South Carolina 400 in our @BassProShops @JRMotorsports Late Model Stock car. Get tickets now at http://fmspeedway.com or at track during the race weekend. It’ll also be live @FloRacing.“
Soon after a fan commented, “Is @KevinHarvick racing.”
Junior promptly replied, “@RodneyChilders4 and crew are being oddly quiet. Won’t be surprised to see them there.“

Jr. had previously spoken about it during the livery reveal where he was seen unveiling the car’s livery. In the video, he mentioned that he would be driving a special Bass Pro Shop livery, which paid tribute to the legacy of the Earnhardt name. The paint scheme is very similar to that of which Earnhardt Sr once raced in. Junior repeatedly mentioned how his family’s relationship with the company had grown so much over the years. It only made sense for him to have a throwback scheme with Bass Pro Shop as a sponsor.
