But I just feel like the town is welcoming to us. Everyone we’ve seen walking down the streets is excited to come to the race, and you know, glad to be here.”

Hamlin’s skepticism seemed to have dissipated as he recognized the potential for exciting moments and numerous passing opportunities on what Chad Knaus previously thought to be a “ridiculously narrow” track. HMS VP of Competition, Chad Knaus, had even called the track “treacherous. However, Hamlin’s experience on the track shattered those doubts and showcased the thrill and excitement it offered.
