In his conversation with Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jeff Burton, Wallace revealed that after he was suspended for wrecking Kyle Larson dangerously at the Las Vegas track, he talked to the Hendrick Motorsports driver about it. Moreover, he said that the punishment served by him has been a humbling experience.
While talking to Wallace, Earmhardt Jr asked; “I wanna know, I’m sure you got advice from everybody. What’s the best piece of advice that you got that you’re going to use going forward?”
To which Wallace replied, “You’ve got to stay true to yourself. And obviously, I learned a lot this past week. Sitting on the sidelines was a very humbling moment, seeing our car out there. But in that moment I could have either folded or stepped up to try to help the team grow and continue. And that’s what I did.”
Furthermore, Wallace revealed that he helped his team to continue to bring the speed they have had the entire year during the Miami-Homestead race. He shared that during his suspension, he was with his team at the 23XI Racing shop.
However, in retrospect, Wallace said; “And so it was a good learning curve, a humbling moment. But looking back at all of it, I could have handled it totally different. (My actions) Put ourselves in a bad situation, put our team, our sponsors, myself, and my family in a bad situation. It’s something none of us deserve. Moving forward, you’ve got to do better.”

After Wallace accepted that he would do things differently going ahead, Jeff Burton asked how would he ensure that he didn’t repeat the same mistakes. To this Wallace answered; “You have those moments, now you can reflect and it’s going to be a flashback. Something happened, don’t overreact. You’ve got to think before you do.”
Furthermore, the 23XI Racing driver revealed that he had a conversation about it all with Kyle Larson. He said; “And having a good conversation with Kyle this week, we came to terms where we both made mistakes and cost each other the race. And ultimately, just racing each other with more respect from here on out is the biggest thing.”
