Once again a Cup race on Monday. Once again a 1-mile track. Once again the #19 dominates them all.

With his emphatic victory at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Martin Truex Jr showcased his amazing capabilities behind the wheel. However, there was one incident involving one of his teammates that caught everyone’s eye.

There is no doubt that Truex Jr was one of the favorites to win in Loudon. Despite failing to win at the track since his Cup debut in 2004, the #19 driver was ranked highly to make it big on Monday. Luckily for the JGR fans, he did not disappoint.

Martin Truex Jr makes a strange plea while registering an impressive victory in Loudon

After trying for years, Martin Truex Jr finally registered a victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Monday. Without a doubt, it was a dominating performance from him as he led 254 out of the 301 laps to win his third race of the 2023 campaign.

Truex Jr started the race in the front row with his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell. With many predicting Bell to repeat his last year’s feat, it was the #19 driver who made it to the victory lane with his career’s 34th win. While the 43-year-old’s performance was impeccable, an incident during the race would have spoiled it all for him.

With just 13 laps to go, Truex Jr looked well set with his lead, Bell crashed into the wall in Turn 4, resulting in a yellow flag. At that moment, it was the eighth yellow flag of the race. Obviously, this made Truex Jr unhappy as it could have easily hampered his chance of winning.

It was then that he exasperated, “Jesus, man. C’mon people.” To enlighten him more on the status of the race, his crew chief James Small informed him that it was Bell who was involved this time around. Hearing this, Truex Jr made a strange wish concerning the company policy.

He said, “We should have a company policy that says when one of your teammates is leading, don’t crash by yourself.” Wonder what Joe Gibbs would be making of this comment, especially with one of his star drivers demanding it.

While there’s not much to read into it, the fans didn’t quite appreciate this approach from Truex Jr.

It must have been truly a great feeling for Martin Truex Jr to have got that lobster after the race at NHMS. Safe to say, it was well deserved. Interestingly, he has now led 550 laps or more in nine consecutive seasons, tying himself with the great Cale Yarborough for the fourth-longest stretch.

While it is an impressive achievement, the fans didn’t quite fancy the way he reacted to Christopher Bell’s crash. In fact, they took to Twitter to criticize him to the fullest.

“STOP FREAKING CRYING DUDE. I like truex, but he sounds like a damn baby no matter if he is leading or running in the back.. Almost unbearable to listen to.”

“Truex is easy to like until you remember he cries so much.”

“Why is bro crying after he’s dominated and clearly the best car lmao”
