Following the end of the 2022 season, Kyle Larson has kept himself busy. However, this time, he decided to not participate in the annual Chili Bowl. Instead, while asked about his 2023 agenda during an interview, the Hendrick Motorsports driver explained what all was in store for him this year. Not all of it was racing-orientated, some of it was also revolving around his own family.

Larson mentioned, “Nothing in California or Southern California, but I’m gonna race some late model stuff, dirt late model stuff in New Mexico.”

He then spoke about his family. “I haven’t done much off-season race. I’ve only ran once since Phoenix. We have a baby coming any time in the next couple of weeks. That’s really kept me from racing, but. It has been really nice to just spend time with the family. And this is the most time consecutively I’ve ever spent with my wife and kids.”

“So it’s been a lot of fun and getting, now that I have the time to do it, get my kids involved in other things. So I got my daughter signed up for gymnastics later tonight. I am taking my son to his first wrestling. Class. He’s got baseball camp next week. They’ve been ice skating. They want to get into hockey. So. They’re trying everything, and it’s been a lot of fun to be a part of.”

Kyle Larson welcomed his third child

Just a few weeks following that interview, the 2021 Cup Series champion welcomed his third child into the world. Larson posted a picture on his Instagram account, with his wife and the newborn.

They named their newborn son, Cooper Donald Larson. The Larsons are sure going to have a fantastic time now with another one joining the family. Who knows, even he might grow up with a fond appreciation for what his dad does for a living. Maybe he too might have an interest in getting into the racing line. Already both of the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s children have begun their racing endeavors. A few years down the line, there might be another one joining the racing scene.

Imagine if in the future all three of them get into NASCAR wouldn’t that just be amazing to see? Perhaps Kyle Larson would have to think about fielding his own racing team then. But those are all speculations, no one knows what would happen in the future. But at the end of the day, we wish the Larson family the best of luck for the road ahead.
