The wait is finally coming to an over. It’s just a few days’ time, and the world of NASCAR is on the verge of creating a new history. The stock cars are ready to serve on the streets of Chicago at 200 mph, as NASCAR inaugurates street racing for the first time in its 75 years of history.

As the lights are ready to go out, the preparations to host the celebrity drivers along with their teams are underway in full-fledged mode. And as a part of the honor of hosting NASCAR and commemorating its rich legacy, McDonald’s announced a new meal.

But it seems that not all are not pleased about the fact, as they express it on Twitter.

McDonald’s announces its new meal ahead of the Chicago Street Race

The Chicago Street Race is set to transform the sports city, as Grant Park and Lake Michigan act as the backdrop for the race. The drivers are set to race through the race through tracks, created by closed-off streets and fencing temporarily. The authorities expect a footfall of a whopping 100,00 and could also generate $3 million as tax revenue from the race.

And as a part of the grand celebrations, the Golden Arches, who have been the primary sponsors of 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace, announced a new meal set. The meal being named “Bubba Wallace Meal” due to their allegiance to the driver. Regarding the availability of the meal, the food giants revealed the meal would be on sale from June 25th. The Bubba Meal can be procured for $8.

But the announcement did not settle well among NASCAR enthusiasts, owing to Wallace’s past incident of wrecking and shoving Hendrick Motorsports Kyle Larson at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. After the occurrence of the infamous incident, fans had even portrayed their discontent, over Wallace’s sponsor McDonald.

Among the whirlwind of backlash that Wallace faced, fans had implored the food chain to drop their support for the driver. An online petition was also issued to request the brand to drop its sponsorship but failed to achieve its target. Nevertheless, the brand has been an honest supporter of the driver.

Many wrote, “Do you have to bump someone out of the way and then give the employee the finger before ordering?”

“Instead of a toy, do you get a last place trophy?”

The demands from the fans can be deemed to be arbitrary in nature and hold no ground to it. But the meal which will be exclusively available in Chicago, is sure to attract fans to the food outlets. This in turn will surely churn out huge revenues, if this is not strategic business, don’t know what is.
