Hocevar tweeted, “We tried.” This was in reference to his attempt to get into that prime JR Motorsports seat. However as per the latest announcement, Junior announced Brandon Jones to replace Noah Gragson next year. Gragson who has been a star driver for the team will be headed to the NASCAR Cup Series to compete full-time with Richard Petty’s team; Petty GMS.
Prior to this tweet, Hocevar posted another one where he was seen in a panda hat trying to impersonate iconic rapper Snoop Dogg. In both instances, fans called him out for his gimmicky behavior.
NASCAR fans call out Carson Hocevar after a series of Tweets

One fan, in particular, was hell-bent on taking multiple jabs at the Truck Series driver, who repeatedly called out his attire and slapstick form of humor.

Brand? Brands don’t change. Brands stay constant. Watermelons are constant. Trying too damn hard. Ross wins. Hate sponsor? Don’t think new era is gonna jump on board for silly games and hats they don’t make. Get real

Personality is one thing. Forced slap stick humor is another. The woe is me sadness and the constant barrage of gimmicky hats is overdone. He hasn’t been around enough to have personality. Results matter. Meaning wins

Considering all things, it wouldn’t be fair to slam Hocevar over his sense of humor. Sure not everyone shares the same sense of humor and asking a driver to change his personality just because their primary profession is racing makes little sense. Sure he could not make it into the playoffs this year but he surely will have his time, if not today then hopefully someday in the future.
