Kyle and Samantha’s romance began when she was a junior at Purdue, leading to marriage and the dream of starting a family. After 16-18 months of trying without success, they turned to a fertility clinic. Their first round of in vitro fertilization (IVF) brought them their son, Brexton. But the road to having a daughter was fraught with even greater challenges, including multiple failed IVF attempts and heartbreaking losses.

In a particularly poignant moment back in 2018, after undergoing several fertility treatments, they announced on Thanksgiving that they were expecting again—a daughter. Samantha had prepared Christmas cards featuring Brexton in his big brother shirt, ready to spread the joyous news to family and friends. As would a happy mother-to-be do!

The post she shared overflowed with gratitude, celebrating the arrival of their daughter after such a long and challenging journey. Just eight days after sharing their joyful announcement, Samantha Busch posted a gut-wrenching video on Instagram, breaking the news to her followers that they had lost their baby to a miscarriage. With tears streaming down her face, she shared a story that many women painfully recognize—the profound loss of a pregnancy.

Fast forward to November 2020, after grappling with a miscarriage and unsuccessful IVF treatments, Kyle and Samantha faced another setback with a failed IVF attempt using a healthy surrogate. Overall, the couple endured a miscarriage in 2018, followed by another failed IVF cycle in 2019, and a disappointing surrogate cycle in 2020.

However, their persistence paid off, and in November 2021, they joyfully announced they were expecting a baby via a surrogate. Their daughter, Lennix Key Busch, was born in May 2022.

Reflecting on their journey, Samantha recently shared an adorable video on Instagram with her daughter, captioned, Every heartbreak was worth it to bring you into our world 🧡. Overlaid on the video was a message that read, Two failed cycles, two miscarriages, countless tears… this moment is an answered prayer.”
