Home/NASCAR

The 2022 NASCAR Cup season has been relatively up and down for Bubba Wallace and 23XI Racing. Many of the highs included his second career Cup win, and a handful of 2nd and 3rd place finishes. However, there have been plenty of low points in his campaign. In light of this, the driver opened up on a piece of advice that teammate Kurt Busch gave him.

Wallace said, “Kurt told me this when I jumped him at Darlington last year. He said, ‘Hey man, you get reset every time a caution comes out or a stage comes out. You have to understand what that is and use that’. Looking back, it makes so much sense. In the moment, you try to understand that, but you have to go through the trials and tribulations of it all to [realize] this is what the veterans are doing.”

For the moment, the #23 driver will be looking ahead to the 2023 season. Safe to say, his second year with the organization, and his first with a teammate, was a success. Though it is worth mentioning that Wallace was rather inconsistent in the early stages of the year. Later on, he got his act together and bagged four consecutive Top 10 finishes from New Hampshire until Michigan. Later on, his efforts were rewarded with a second career victory at the Kansas Speedway.

Now, the 23XI Racing driver will be keenly waiting for the new campaign. Hopefully, he can try to improve his performance and be more consistent. It is safe to say that he really put his mind to it, he could sneak into the Playoffs with a win or two. After all, the sky is the limit for the 29-year-old race car driver from Alabama.
