Is 2025 officially the year of comebacks? Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. are two such names who look to revive their prolific racing career this year. Harvick claimed the NASCAR Cup Series Championship in 2014 and cemented his legacy with 60 career Cup wins. Meanwhile, Earnhardt Jr. built a loyal fanbase with 26 Cup wins and two Daytona 500 victories.
Apart from NASCAR, they have dominated the racing world with their Cars Tour Racing Series. CTR is a late-model racing series that promotes grassroots racing in the Americas. The CARS Tour is also co-owned by Dale Jr. and Kevin Harvick. Now, as we prepare for the 2025 season, Kevin Harvick has revealed his plans outside of being just an owner. He recently announced key details of his racing schedule.

Notably, Harvick isn’t the only veteran making a return to late models. Dale Earnhardt Jr. will also hit the track in 2025. A few days ago, he announced plans to compete in the zMAX CARS Tour debut at Cordele Motor Speedway in Georgia on April 12. Earnhardt Jr. expressed his excitement as he said, “It’s thrilling to add this race to the short list of events I’ll be racing in next year. Fans in the area are excited, and our teams are looking forward to this new challenge.”
The Cordele race, featuring both Late Model Stock Cars and Pro Late Models, is part of a broader effort to revitalize the local racing scene. The series will kick off on April 12 in the state of Georgia and the event will use the 3/8-mile track owned by Greg and Lori Noland. It’s worth noting that they purchased this track in 2024 and since then have been trying to revive it.
Harvick and Dale Jr. returning to the tracks does put a smile on fans’ faces. However, what would put an even bigger smile on Kevin Harvick’s face is watching his son race!

Harvick reveals the layout of his son’s racing career

While Kevin Harvick focuses on his return, his son Keelan is carving his path in motorsports. The 12-year-old has already made waves in kart racing. In 2024, his performance was nothing sort of remarkable. He registered seven victories in Legends car racing and won a championship win at the Legend Car Asphalt Nationals. Keelan also secured a third-place finish at a Legends car event at Southern National Motorsports Park, narrowly missing a $25,000 prize.
Looking ahead to 2025, Kevin Harvick shared his plans for Keelan’s development. “I think next year we’ll probably run eight to twelve of these Limited Late Model races. We’ll run a lot here in Florence just because I like the rules; you can buy tires. We can give him a good, quality experience here,” Harvick told Short Track Scene.

In a social media post, Harvick also revealed that he will also race alongside his son Keelan in the upcoming year. “I’m going to race about 15 times across the country and with Keelan several times!” he posted on X. Harvick’s commitment and mentorship added with Keelan’s dedication are laying the groundwork for a potential NASCAR career. However, a lot will depend on Keelan’s performance in the upcoming years.
