Over the years, Hendrick Motorsports has established itself as a powerhouse of the sport. The team was founded by Rick Hendrick in 1984. Since then, the team has amassed a staggering 14 Cup Series championships—the most by any team in the modern era. The team’s stable has, at various points in time, included NASCAR legends such as Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

With a current lineup featuring the likes of Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson, the team is poised to add to its records. Despite its already massive presence in the world of motorsports, a recent press release indicated that HMS is still on a quest to grow further.

With the expansion, HMS will create more jobs for tasks such as “fabrication of metal structures, prototyping, and assembly.”

In the press release, Marshall Carlson, the president of Hendrick Cos., mentioned that the expansion will benefit the local community. He said the new facility would allow the team to further broaden their “manufacturing work and create additional career opportunities” for future employees with the required skill set. The current HMS facility is a whopping 155,000 sq ft already. The current expansion plan will further consolidate its presence in the motorsports world.
