The JR Motorsports driver recognized the collective efforts needed to succeed. While the organization’s drivers have just one win this season, he highlighted the unique circumstances he had faced. He made nine starts as an unexpected fill-in driver for injured HMS drivers, Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman. Additionally, Berry’s anticipation has been building as he gears up to take on the NASCAR Cup Series with Stewart-Haas Racing, for now, his focus remains on the Xfinity playoffs with his #8 Chevrolet Camaro team.

While currently in a comfortable position above the cutline, Berry knew there’s room for improvement. He emphasized, “We need to be faster and upfront leading laps. Otherwise, we’re going to be skirting each round of elimination.”

One particular aspect of Berry’s development that stood out is his progress in road course racing. Despite growing up racing short tracks in the south, he has put in the effort to improve on road courses. He felt confident in his abilities with top-10 finishes at Circuit of the Americas and Portland International Raceway this season.

Josh Berry’s weekend at Pocono Raceway started on a high note as he secured the pole position, setting the stage for an intense 90-lap race. Berry’s impressive performance during practice sessions leading up to the race bolstered his confidence. With a history of top 10 finishes at the track, including a remarkable third-place finish in the previous season, Berry felt well-prepared for the challenge ahead.

Pocono Raceway’s unique 2.5-mile triangle layout poses a challenge to drivers, where clean air becomes crucial for success. Berry acknowledged the difficulty of passing competitors on this track, making a strong start from the pole position all the more critical. He expressed his optimism, saying, “Starting up front, it’s going to be great for us if we can get up front and lead some laps early on and go from there.”

Beyond Pocono, the Xfinity Series faces an exciting lineup of road courses. His experience is good for the Xfinity Series; he has had five wins in the Xfinity Series since 2021 and has been among the top 10 in 44 races. In order to do good in the Cup, he joined the Xfinity series, as he is well known for the track.
