Every once in a while, there comes a moment in NASCAR that proves just how tight and well-knit the fanbase is to the sport and the drivers. Sometimes those moments are of jubilation, and sometimes they’re of tragedy. Unfortunately, there’s been a recent such moment in which the fans came together and united, but on the wrong side of this spectrum.
A few months after ARCA driver Greg Van Alst won at Daytona International Speedway, and days after he was announced to be running in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Atlanta in July, his father Bruce Van Alst, passed away. Reacting to the same, the NASCAR community paid their last respects to the NASCAR icon.
