The times, they are a-changin’ for Bubba Wallace, even though it might be too late. But still, something is better than nothing. Some progress is better than stagnancy.
Wallace was getting rusted, with one bad result after the other. However, in New Hampshire, he shook off the rust, as did his team.

What they ended up achieving might not have shattered records or made it to the top of the headlines.
But as small as it may be, it still was progress for the 23XI Racing driver as he finished in third place, making it his first finish inside the top five at a track shorter than 2.5 miles.

Bubba Wallace reacts to his third-place finish at New Hampshire
In a post-race interview, Bubba Wallace was exactly as how you’d expect him to be after the finish inside the top five, relieved, and humble. “I’m just proud of the team, proud of myself, proud of everybody at the shop,” he said.
Wallace claimed that towards the end, he didn’t know they were in third place, but he did have an idea of them being inside the top five. He went on to comment on the state of his #23 Toyota, which, according to him, didn’t steer well, but it had speed.
“Just tire management there at the end, and we were able to capitalize,” he described.

The #23 driver admitted that the last few months have been “hell” for him.

“This sport humbles you, so there’s really no surprises. You’ve got to keep the task at hand and be mindful of your surroundings and just do your job. As long as you do that, you never know if you’re going to end up with a top three or 20th or whatever it may be,” he added.
“You just stick true to your path.”
