Opening its doors in 1990, the New Hampshire Motor Speedway has been home to NASCAR’s Cup Series races for more than 30 years now. The speedway added a quarter-mile dirt track in 2018 and has since hosted American Flat Track and USAC Dirt Midget Granite State Legends Cars. For this season, NHMS’s quarter-mile dirt track has added New England Racing Fuel’s Dirt Duels to its itinerary. And seems like, Chase Briscoe has already kicked off some action.

Serving as a kick-off to the upcoming Crayon 301 Cup Series race, the Friday night Dirt Duels witnessed NASCAR star Chase Briscoe jump in for some dirt action. Driving Matt Tanner’s #14 winged sprint car, Chase Briscoe was subject to a harrowing crash that echoed Kyle Larson’s Eldora Million race incident.

On Thursday, Kyle Larson competed in Tony Stewart’s one-of-a-kind Eldora Million Sprint Car race. Making it past the Heat stages, Larson had his eyes set on the $1 million prize cheque. During the main event, Aaron Reutzel spun out in front of Yung Money, leading to a five-car pileup that left the cars unsalvageable. The vicious crash effectively ended Kyle Larson’s hope of a consecutive million-dollar win for the 2023 season.

A similar fate befell Chase Briscoe during the Friday night Dirt Duels. Behind the wheel of the Mahindra Tractors #14 winged sprint car, Briscoe was in the fourth position during the Heat race. Trailing the #6, #12, and #17 cars, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver moved up to the third spot as the #12 car was pushed to the outer wall. Sliding hard in the turn, the #12 darted ahead to make up for its lost spot. Catching the right side of Briscoe’s #14 during the overtake, the #12 car hopped before flipping upside down. In the ensuing chaos, Chase Briscoe’s #14 car also sustained damage, bringing him to a stop. Luckily, both drivers walked away unharmed.
