Dale Earnhardt Jr spent 19 years racing in the Cup Series, plying his trade most famously for Hendrick Motorsports. While he may have missed getting his hands to the Championship trophy, that by no means hints he wasn’t good enough.

After retiring in 2017, he has chosen to devote his time to other interests of his. One of them is giving back to society and working for the betterment of the lives of the less fortunate.

The 48-year-old is worth $300 million, earning his massive wealth from his popular Dale Jr Download podcast, and his Xfinity Series team JR Motorsports, among other sources. But he believes in using that wealth to the benefit of other people.

Earnhardt Jr. spoke at the unveiling of the statues

Among his latest charitable initiatives is the Dale and Amy Earnhardt Fund, which opened at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2017. At the Ohio hospital’s famous Magic Forest, the couple recently also unveiled the statues of their dogs, Gus and Junebug.

At the unveiling, Junior said, “They’re really great ways to bring in some positive interaction and engagement with the kids and bring a smile to their face as they go through the hospital.”

They can purchase replicas of their dogs or any of the other animal friends in the Magic Forest from the gift shop or online. For every purchase made, $10 in proceeds will go to the Fund set up by Dale and Amy.

Among its many initiatives, the Foundation started the Driven to Give Gloves program. This program was an extension of the Driven to Give program they already had in place. The new program intended to auction one pair of gloves worn by Junior during his time, every month of the season.

Given the success and legacy Dale Jr. had during his career, the program was a huge win for the Foundation. They collected a lot of money that could be used for charitable initiatives.
