Just over a month ago, the headlines were dominated by a major controversy involving NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports (HMS). Slapped with severe penalties and hefty fines, HMS was left in a precarious situation that effectively knocked two of their drivers out of contention for the rest of the season.

However, in a surprising turn of events, a successful appeal seemed to rescue the team from their predicament. Now, the specter of similar troubles appears to be looming over another team – 23XI Racing.

Rumors had been circulating about pre-race complications plaguing Tyler Reddick‘s vehicle, and mere hours later, those fears materialized into an unfortunate reality for Reddick.

Consequently, fans are abuzz with speculation that 23XI Racing might soon find themselves embroiled in a crisis reminiscent of the recent HMS saga.

Tyler Reddick’s crew chief ends up in trouble

Pockrass had earlier posted on Twitter, “Reddick and Gibbs cars failed twice in Cup tech and had car chiefs ejected and will lose pit selection.”

“Reddick and Gibbs cars were good on third time so get to qualify and keep spot.”

Just hours later, Pockrass informed, “Update: NASCAR ended up ejecting Tyler Reddick crew chief Billy Scott for whatever it found wrong with the Reddick car. Dave Rogers will crew chief for Reddick this weekend at Darlington. Additional penalties possible on Tuesday.”

The fans’ responses to this developing situation have been varied. One fan opined, “They probably shouldn’t have done what they did Bob, in my opinion.”

A sense of anticipation was evident in another fan’s prediction: “Incoming L1 or L2 penalty this Wednesday.”

A third fan expressed exasperation with a terse, “Oh for goodness’ sake.”

Yet another fan offered a silver lining, stating, “Well, thank goodness he won that race at COTA because I have a feeling he’s going to face a tough penalty next week.”

In a satirical tone, another fan joked, “I heard it’s because they didn’t participate in the ‘mental health day’. Billy Scott is too manly for NASCAR.”

As speculation continues to swirl, it appears we’ll have to wait until Tuesday to discover the course Reddick’s situation will take. However, with some fans predicting potential L1 or L2 penalties, the outlook for the 23XI Racing driver might not be particularly promising.
