Following the news of Kyle Busch moving to the Chevrolet-powered Richard Childress Racing, many have come to ask whether it would concur as a massive loss for Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota or not. NASCAR Spotter Freddie Kraft argues that it wouldn’t be a big blow to Toyota over their latest DBC podcast.

Kraft stated, “I hear a lot of people questioning, oh it’s such a big hit for Toyota you know. Toyota’s gonna suffer from this. Nah, not really in my opinion, because they basically funded KBM. All Toyota is going to do is take that money and go fund somebody else. David Gilliland or something.”
Brett Griffin interjects and says, “I think the opposite is going to happen. I think that Chevrolet is going to pull money from existing programs. I don’t think Chevrolet just comes up with 5 million dollars from another project to give to Kyle Busch Motorsports, I think Chevrolet pulls back resources from some of its other teams in order to afford Kyle Busch Motorsports in the Truck Series.”
Kraft continues, “I’m just saying, It’s hurting Chevrolet more than it’s hurting Toyota, the lower series teams anyway. All Toyota’s gonna do, there are teams out there where they fund the motorsport more, they get a guy like David Gilliland to switch back to Toyota team went back to Ford. I mean there’s teams out there, I mean they could talk Denny (Hamlin) into starting a damn Truck team.”
“Because it’s gonna be fully funded, Toyota is gonna put all their backing behind it to make sure they have a pipeline for these young guys that are coming up. They’re gonna need seats for, they have to go somewhere for and Toyota is gonna make sure they have a place to go.”
