Auto-racing history fanatic nascarman recently took to Twitter to provide tidbits on a funny incident involving Jimmy Spencer and his then team owner, Chip Ganassi. The episode in question is a bet that took place in December of 2001. Spencer, who boasted a heavy build, was reportedly challenged by Ganassi to fit into an IndyCar. The team owner was apparently confident that the driver wouldn’t fit into the vehicle and even bet $500 on it.

However, Spencer proved it otherwise, when he tested an IndyCar at Sebring. Hilariously, the driver removed the car seat to be able to somehow squeeze in. To brag about his victory, he also made five laps in the car and won the bet.

Now this would’ve been epic to witness. Fans also showered the tweet with a lot of attention, littering the comments section with hilarious statements.
