Kyle Busch is experiencing one of the toughest stretches of his career, but the same can’t be said for his young son. Brexton Busch is making waves in the racing world, having started at the tender age of five. Just a month after hitting the track, he won his first-ever race at Mountain Creek Speedway. And this year, he is on a roll!
Having Kyle Busch as a father, a seasoned NASCAR champion, is more than an advantage. Although Busch might not be in his best form right now, he has some golden advice for his son. He shared this with the media recently, and while offering his wisdom, he also managed to plausibly take a dig at Corey LaJoie and the rest of the NASCAR drivers a little.

Kyle Busch got his name Rowdy for a reason–he is fierce both on and off track. But recently, that fierceness was missing, and it’s understandable. Not making it to the playoffs with 21 races in, having crashed five times in seven races, having people annoy him on track—everything’s taking a toll on him. And it was evident in his quiet demeanor. Hamlin in his podcast also highlighted how he doesn’t recognize Kyle Busch now. But Rowdy seems to be slowly getting his mojo back.
In a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Busch called Corey Lajoie a “liar”–without mincing any words. And he even said that a payback is coming. He said, “He texted me and then he called me. I didn’t even reach back out because he changed his story four times, so I’m like, ‘You’re just a liar. You wrecked me.’ I get it. It’s fine. Whatever. Payback’s coming.” Not just LaJoie, he took out his frustrations on the entire pack of drivers as he said he doesn’t trust anyone not to wreck him on tracks.
And then the media asked Kyle Busch if he had shared any teaching moments with his son. He did answer but his answer also reflected his frustrations. He mentioned that he makes an effort to show and explain to Brexton what is acceptable and what isn’t in racing. He said to Frontstretch, “I guess just showing him and telling him about things that are okay in instances when you’re racing together. You’re going to have close quarters, you’re going to have contact, things like that. But when you have instances in which you get driven over, then those are moments that aren’t acceptable as a race driver, whether you’re doing it or receiving it.”
His response once again seems like a dig at Corey LaJoie or perhaps everyone who seems to have shoved him recently on track because of his lack of speed. Moreover, his commitment to show his son the right way says a lot about him hoping for a sport that’s clean tomorrow. These important lessons from his father are the building blocks for his personality and racing ethics.

Kyle Busch has a tough competition, coming right from home–his very own son Brexton. He slowly but surely has been ticking off all the boxes of his major goals one by one. Whether it’s winning the Millbridge Beginner Box in 2022, the Mountain Creek Beginner Box in the same year, or the Night Beginner Box Millbridge championship in 2023. And while things have drastically changed for his dad from last year to now, things have been nothing but better for Busch Junior.
He renewed the sponsorship with SERVPRO this year and he since has been on a roll, winning left, right, and center. Brexton, during the 600 Speedweek dirt car series, clinched more wins than his peers. He competed in five intense race battles–Spirit Auto Center on July 14, Airport Speedway on July 15, Greenwood Valley on July 16, Action Track USA on July 17, and Linda’s Speedway on July 18, 2024. He won three consecutive races, continued his momentum, and won another race just a day ago.
