The arrival of the new NASCAR team 23XI Racing is highly anticipated, and many are looking forward to what Bubba Wallace can bring to the table. The team, managed by superstars Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, will of course front a single-car entry in the 2021 Cup Series season.
Naturally, with the Daytona 500 coming up pretty soon, the collective fanbases of all three athletes will be following the team’s results. Needless to mention, Wallace would shoulder expectations of delivering consistency and attaining the requisite objectives.
In a recent interview, though, Wallace talked about the time Jordan called him up regarding the move to 23XI Racing. Going by Bubba’s words, one can certainly believe that the NBA legend also has sound knowledge of NASCAR racing!

Michael Jordan told Bubba Wallace he went ‘middle three-wide’ in a NASCAR race
Wallace stated, “He said, ‘Oh by the way, before I let you go, what were you doing three weeks ago?’ He’s like, ‘You were pushing Denny on the restart and you went middle three-wide, knowing it wasn’t going to work.’”
Jordan had reportedly attended NASCAR Cup Series races as a child along with his family. His friendship with Hamlin has also been long-standing and over time, has learned a thing or two about stock car racing.
“Like it was super cool that he was that in tune. And he was like ‘why didn’t you just stay in line?’” concluded Wallace.
