A long-time Charlotte Hornets fan, Bubba Wallace loves to witness hoop action in person. And that’s why the NASCAR driver made sure to attend the Hornets versus Bulls clash at the Spectrum Center on Thursday, in which, Michael Jordan’s Hornets defeated the Bulls 111–96. However, instead of just celebrating the win, Wallace took it upon himself to share a wise piece of advice with the young NBA players.
During his conversation at the QC Hornet’s Nest podcast, Wallace warned the young NBA talent about making it to the top. He said, “I mean, there’s no more climbing, right? There’s no more climbing when you’re at the Cup level of our sport, there’s no more climbing at the NBA level.
“And that’s something that it takes you a season or two to realize. It’s like ‘Oh man, I got a brand. I got to bring in more than I ever have.'”

What else did he warn the NBA players about?
Furthermore, Wallace revealed why everything is not how it seems from the outside. He stated, “And you see some of these guys come in and they think it’s gonna be like X, and it ends up being like Y. It’s like we gotta go through a whole new transition.
“I’ve lived that. In my rookie year and the Cup car and just trying to figure out everything. So, they’re young, they’ve got time.”
Moreover, there was something else that the 23XI Racing driver warned the NBA players about. While talking about the cut-throat competition in sports, Wallace said, “The biggest thing that I’ve also paid attention to is even when you get there, there’s always still somebody behind you trying to take your spot. So, don’t give them a reason.”

When Bubba Wallace received one of his biggest life lessons
Even though Bubba Wallace had some solid advice for the young NBA players, it doesn’t mean that the NASCAR driver doesn’t need some for himself. For the past couple of years, Wallace has been quite vocal about his mental health struggles. And on many occasions, he has revealed that music has been his go-to fix for a bad day.
However, while discussing his list of coping mechanisms on the Steve Harvey Show, Wallace received one of the biggest life lessons. While talking about what he learned from his mother’s death, Steve Harvey told Wallace that gratitude destroys depression.

Moreover, he explained, “Those two things cannot exist side-by-side. You’re either grateful or you’re depressed. Once you’re grateful, you can’t be depressed ’cause you gotta be glad to be grateful.”
