What looked like another Martin Truex Jr. was the No. 17 Ford Mustang driver in Michigan. Monday was quickly turned down by RFK Racing‘s Chris Buescher, who once again etched his name at Michigan, continuing Ford’s dominance at the 2-mile technical speedway. While the Toyotas gave a tough battle to the RFK cars, with Truex and Denny Hamlin hot on the #17’s tail, Buescher’s tenacity and Ford’s ability to maintain speed even till the end sealed the deal as the #17 Ford cruised into the victory lane in flying colors. Though the fans were thrilled to see their all-American manufacturer extend their dominance, winning it for a whopping ninth consecutive time, it was a dark scene for Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s team, 23XI Racing.

Despite leading 7 laps and capturing the top position, road racing phenom Tyler Reddick had a steep drop from the top as his own team threw the 27-year-old under the bus, essentially ruining his race as he finished in a miserable 30th position when the checkered flag dropped. With the team repeating his past mistakes once again, co-owner Hamlin came out with bold words as he expressed his frustration bluntly, condemning his team’s wrongdoing.

Micheal Jordan and Denny Hamlin’s team drivers’ plight continues as they once again choke themselves despite their drivers’ valiant efforts. while it was Bubba Wallace who was the victim of his pit crew’s inefficiency and inadequacy. Much like our prediction and previews, Michigan International Speedway witnessed an epic back-and-forth between the Ford and the Toyota.

While it was JGR veteran Martin Truex Jr who looked like he was going to steamroll his way into another Monday win, acing both the first and second stages of the race, his advance was halted by the superior RFK Racing #17 Ford with Chris Buescher at the helm, beating the veteran to the punch with a late rally that got him his 2nd back to back win.

Even though the Toyotas were competitive, the same cannot be said for the Michael Jordan co-owned team 23XI Racing cars as they once again choked themselves. Reddick who was looking to end his disappointing series of slumps was quickly let down by his #45 pit crew after a lousy pit stop got him further back in the game despite leading 7 laps. Reacting to his team’s poor performance, Hamlin after the race chimed in with his thoughts on his podcast, Action Detrimental.

You saw he #45 leapfrog them(#17) you know but the #45 came back in because he had a tire falloff again but like even with the #45 he had a slow pit stop remember he kind of stopped on the right side and okay do we fix this or not and he still comes out ahead of the #17 it’s like, oh man that’s even more of a crushing blow to the #45,” said Hamlin showing his displeasure.

He further mentioned how the crew repeated the exact thing they did at Nashville, saying, “That’s a head-scratcher for sure for those guys and they did it again it’s basically the Nashville’s same thing where you know the #45 was kind of a dominant car, one that was top 2 car and you know he was just pressuring (Chris) Buescher there for the lead when they pitted and had another right wheel fall off so they got to fix that, certainly there’s a fixing to do there, short or long term. “

Tyler Reddick sees red as he blasts his pit crew after their negligence cost him the race

Looking to repeat his Circuit of the Americas success, #45 driver, Tyler Reddick had big hopes heading into the speedway action at MIS. Unfortunately for him, his pit crew did the exact thing they’ve been doing: getting the driver back to square one. Both Wallace and Reddick have been at the wrong end several times now, with their pit crews giving the absolute worst performance.

Reddick was even the race leader when the rain stopped the action on Sunday and even had the same pit strategy as the race winner, Buescher. With 43 laps to go for the checkered flag, both cars pitted for one last time, with Michael Jordan and Hamlin’s No. 45 car beating the Ford as it took off the pit road. But things were about to go wrong as the hasty pit stop from the #45 crew caused the rear right tire to go loose, causing the #45 Toyota to slide off.

While he returned to the pits soon after the incident, the damage was already done as the #17 Ford got the lead and sped off. Speaking to NASCAR over the phone, Reddick did not hesitate to let his emotions do the talking, saying, “Yeah, we’ve definitely got to get better there. We’ve got to improve, It’s just tough when that’s a mistake that we’ve made before, in the same situation, honestly. Not the last stop of the race, for sure, but in the lead, cycling back to the lead. Certainly, it’s just, it’s tough to … we’ve just got to learn from our mistakes. We can’t afford to repeat them.”
