Off late, there has been a massive influx of interest in NASCAR from other major sports. There have already been many NFL players taking a vested interest in the motor racing series. Prior to that, NBA legend Michael Jordan became co-owner of the 23XI Racing team. Now, the latest athlete to join the club is another NBA star – LeBron James.
According to a report, Roush Fenway Racing co-owners, Fenway Sports Group, have recruited James as a partner. This also means that the Los Angeles Lakers star also has a stake in the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC.
However, it is worth mentioning that not much is known about how much stock LeBron James owns. In addition to that, James will not be alone in this venture. As per the Boston Globe, he is partnering business associate Maverick Carter. On an interesting side-note, the two are the first African-American partners in the Fenway Sports Group.

It is worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Carter has been associated with NASCAR. This is because he linked up with Bubba Wallace, courtesy, Roush Fenway Racing. The association began in 2015 when Wallace drove for Roush Fenway in the Xfinity Series and was aimed at helping Wallace in terms of branding and sponsorship.
Interestingly, LeBron James is also a fan of Wallace and has supported him multiple times. Speaking of Wallace, the African-American driver races for 23XI Racing, Michael Jordan’s team. In other words, the former Chicago Bulls legend will have some company in the NASCAR paddock.
