The name Michael Jordan is synonymous with many things. Ambition, determination, and character might be some of them. But the one word that reflects his journey the most accurately is ‘success’. And naturally, his tremendous success, which he majorly earned during his time with the Chicago Bulls, is something that is followed by a great legacy, which, as it turns out, MJ can very well build on without even being associated to the Bulls.

As a NASCAR Insider rightly pointed out, Jordan can carry forward his legacy as a Chicago Legend with a secret weapon in his arsenal. What do you think it could be?

MJ-owned 23XI Racing has compiled a great amount of talent in its driver lobby. Both Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick have shown with time, that with the right backing, the sky is the limit. And now, placing all his chips on one of their drivers, Long hinted at how Jordan, through his team, can live on as a Chicago Legend.

He said, “Come on guys, we’re here in Chicago. You’re forgetting this was the City that Michael Jordan had all his success with the Chicago Bulls.”

“Now he’s the co-owner of 23XI Racing. He’s got Tyler Reddick as one of his drivers,” he said, reflecting on the unexplored talent of Tyler Reddick. “I think what’s really interesting about Tyler Reddick is you know, Tyler talked about previously how he was not a good road course racer and goes back to the 2020 Charlotte Roval race. He was just in Kevin Harvick’s way really and was just breaking a lot sooner and just really struggled and used that off-season to really work on his road course abilities.”

As videos from the street course have shown, the course has sharp turns and much scope for wrecks and contact. Reddick’s familiarity with road courses will definitely provide a much-needed boost for 23XI Racing this weekend.

Tyler Reddick’s Improvement on Road Courses Makes Him a Contender for Chicago

As the video interview goes on, Long looks at the statistical side of Reddick’s growth. Showing his increase in performance, especially at street courses which were surprisingly Reddick’s weakness according to him, “Then later in 2021 he won the pole at COTA and scored a top ten and since that COTA race, he’s won three times on road courses and he has nine top tens and 14 races. You know in the last year he’s won a Road America, he’s won at COTA. He’s also won at Indianapolis.”

“I don’t think you can discount Tyler Reddick even on this tight street course.”

The achievements only underline Reddick’s ability to increase his potential ceiling as a driver. The driver crowned as Jesus for his road course abilities is currently placed 13th in the regular point standings. Although there have been struggles this season, including some bizarre track penalties, he will look to improve his position with playoffs approaching.

Despite Long’s efforts, only a few people will acknowledge Reddick’s acumen as a possible winner at Chicago. But having someone like Jordan, who knows what it feels to have odds against him, could be crucial in their run. With the #45 car already on display with a magnificent paint job, everyone’s eyes will be on the California speedster.
