He joined Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing this season after a three-year stint at Richard Childress Racing. Known for his exceptional driving flair on the track, the #45 Toyota Camry driver secured his first win of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series at the Circuit of The Americas. Currently, just 84 points behind the current NASCAR Cup Series leader, Tyler Reddick is quickly making his way up the charts. 

Recently Reddick became the talk of the town, following his qualifying laps for tomorrow’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 race at Sonoma Raceway.

The 23XI Racing driver is often seen pushing his car to the limits. Reddick’s signature style is attacking corners aggressively on road courses. Today’s qualifying laps for the race at Sonoma Raceway were no different.

While Denny Hamlin claimed the pole position, Tyler Reddick grabbed the second spot for tomorrow’s lineup, right behind the co-owner of his team. However, it was still he who got the spotlight at qualifying by drifting past the outside curb in style. For a while, it almost looked like Reddick had lost control. But the phenomenal driver that he is, Tyler Reddick, quickly recovered from the potential spin, impressing the fans, which, let’s be honest, is not something easy. So here is what happened.

While Tyler Reddick is enjoying a great season with 23XI Racing, his move from Richard Childress Racing to Hamlin and Jordan’s team was not easy.

Reddick chose to transition from Richard Childress Racing for the 2023 season. While he struck a deal with 23XI team co-owner Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick dreaded having the tough conversation about his move with the RCR team. Speaking on Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media podcast, Reddick revealed how the RCR crew was left heartbroken.

“There was hard moments definitely when I sat down and told them hey this is what’s going to happen. That was a hard conversation to have with them, they were heartbroken about it. I hated to be the one telling them that, but I needed to be the one telling them that.”

“They obviously knew in the future I wasn’t going to be there, but they not for one second questioned my effort and how much I was going to put towards it. We just continued to work hard. We went back out and won in Indy,” said Reddick.
