In the world of sports and entertainment, it’s not uncommon for celebrities to find themselves in the limelight for various reasons. Michael Jordan, the legendary basketball player and global icon, experienced this firsthand when he recently became the subject of online ridicule for his fashion choices.

However, true to his resilient nature, Jordan is bouncing back from the fashion fiasco and is now set to host ‘Bubba Wallace’s Block Party’ alongside his team, 23XI Racing, just days before the highly anticipated Chicago Street Race this weekend.

The block party which is set to take place at The DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center in Chicago is centered around the idea of celebrating diversity and aims to bring more minority interest to the sport.

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Wallace shared his thoughts on the message of diversity, saying, “A lot of people (have been) saying that they don’t feel welcomed to be a part of our sport. I’ve been racing for 20 years, going on 21 years now, and I couldn’t think of being anywhere else.”

He further added, “I’ve always enjoyed my time, except when I lose. But from the stories that I’ve heard and people’s comments, we got to be better. You’ve always heard the labels about our sport whether it’s being racist, redneck or whatnot. That’s very far from the truth. There’s always a couple of bad apples, but a couple of bad apples doesn’t portray the whole picture of our sport.”

Michael Jordan’s Outfit Causes Mayhem in the Racing Community

Less than a week before the block party, Michael Jordan found himself on the receiving end of online fashion critique when he sported a casual outfit during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Ally 400 in Nashville. The six-time NBA Championship winner’s choice of a tucked-in t-shirt and camo shorts had several fans questioning his fashion sense.

Social media was abuzz with comments poking fun at the legendary basketball player’s style, with some comparing his look to that of a “dorky dad” as one Twitter user hilariously added, “Bro dressed like a middle school flag football coach,” While another jokingly said, “That uncle at the BBQ that was cool in the 90’s drip.”

Despite the mockery being made of Jordan, what caught the attention of many was the watch adorning Jordan’s wrist. The 40mm Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in rose gold seemed out of place in contrast with his plain outfit. Several people were also caught off guard as it was revealed that this particular watch, adorned with a rose gold bracelet, is typically valued at around $100,000 AUD.
