Joe Gibbs recently said that he has been working tirelessly to retain Kyle Busch for the next season. But with failed talks with companies like Oracle, the door seems to be getting narrower with each passing day.

During an interview, team owner Joe Gibbs said, “We’ve got things going on. We’re not sure what’s going to happen, or is something going to finish up the way we want it to finish up. We’re working on things. It’s just a hard, hard deal.”
Talking about his situation, Kyle Busch said, “You’ve got to have sponsorship in this sport to be able to go forward. It’s not as simple as being a basketball player and being a Michael Jordan or a LeBron James or something like that and being a really good player and the team losing a sponsor and then saying, ‘OK, Michael and LeBron, we have to let you go because we can’t afford you.”

Kyle compares his situation to the legendary Michael Jordan and LeBron James. He states it is like suddenly dropping them during their prime just because the team said they couldn’t afford them anymore.
With just seven months remaining before the next season, it is a battle against time for JGR and Kyle to figure out a way. Otherwise, the worst could be seeing Kyle off to another team or out of NASCAR altogether.

With the constant ongoing pressure of finding a way to stay with his team, Kyle Busch stated, “But if the musical chairs music stops, and I’m still standing and I don’t have a seat, I’m screwed. So I have to make sure that I continue to talk and evaluate each place and each situation to find something”.
Kyle lists the option to race out of NASCAR to be his last. Meanwhile, JGR continues to try their level best to find someone as soon as possible.

But time is going to be a major factor in deciding Kyle’s fate. He sure does still have it in him to race as fast as he can and push for wins. But if he can’t find someone to sponsor him, he might not be heading into the next season as a Joe Gibbs Racing driver. The situation is dire and all we can hope for is a miracle at this stage.
