The Joe Gibbs Racing driver in his latest podcast episode shared his thoughts with his friend and co-host of the show, Jared Allen. With the team owner negotiating with NASCAR officials in the background, the driver had harsh words on how things were portrayed following the alleged “boycott” scenario!

Joining Allen, Hamlin shared some sharp remarks about a printing/publication that caught his eye!

Hamlin expressed his displeasure with the fake narrative “boycott” scenario put in some publications that caught his eye. The driver used some blunt words in his podcast while he discussed the situation.

Much has been discussed about the owner meeting with the NASCAR going off the charts. Despite the rumors floating surrounding the infamous stunt, Hamlin explains that it was just the team’s choice to not attend. Hamlin said, “I saw this you know printed out that the owners have boycotted Wednesday’s meeting, that’s not, that word probably shouldn’t have been used, uh basically each team, uh made their own decision not to go,”

Furthermore, the driver gave some insights about these peculiar meetings, as he reveals there is a negotiating team alongside the owner’s team that helps to bring a balance and convey the team’s view on the matter to the NASCAR executives. As he reveals Michael Jordan’s insider alongside Jeff Gordon among the negotiating panel.

While the organization is taking a lot of heat from the teams for not making headways with revenue distribution, there have been efforts from either owner’s side or the officials to mend the already worse situation. For this, there’s this negotiating panel of team officials that would integrate the teams’ part of the story to the NASCAR authorities, including Steve Phelps and Steve O’Donnell, etc. Hamlin also sheds light on the owners’ meeting happening much before the owners’ meeting with NASCAR officials.

Hamlin said, “So we hold owner’s meetings the day before we have our meeting with NASCAR to kinda group together out thoughts and kind of talk about the things that NASCAR has listed as their subjects of um subjects of what we’re gonna speak upon for the meetings, we kind of regroup and for um it sort of time where the uh TMC which is known as the uh negotiating committee which is made up of Dave Alpern from Joe Gibbs Racing, Curtis Polk [Michael Jordan’s Associate] from 23Xl Racing, we have Steve Newmark from uh RFK and you have Jeff Gordon from Hendrick Motorsports.”
