Consequently, drivers are always under immense pressure to perform. From dealing with the expectations of fans, crew, team owners, and sponsors to managing their own expectations, drivers always have a chip on their shoulders.

Unfortunately, following Sunday’s race in COTA, the ever-confident and entertaining Bubba Wallace is feeling the heat this time. After a series of unfortunate events, a dejected Bubba was seen talking to a pit reporter.

It was on this matter that NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace came to the aid of the depressed driver and shared his remarks.

Kenny Wallace backs a disheartened Bubba Wallace

Fans witnessed a dejected and disheartened Bubba Wallace after his outing at the Circuit of The Americas came to an end as bad luck ran him over.

Former Xfinity Series driver Kenny Wallace shared his remarks on the matter. Kenny certainly knows a thing or two when it comes to racing inside the oval. Speaking on his Youtube channel, he voiced why the 23Xl Racing driver “needs a life coach with him at the racetrack”.

Bubba had earlier been harsh on himself as he publically said, “Two weeks in a row making rookie mistakes, been in the Cup Series for 6 years, I need to be replaced.” 

To this, the older driver had a strong message. Taking a page from Danica Patrick’s book, Kenny said, “Bubba is not going to win any championships with this attitude, Danica Patrick has said it best, ‘If you’re thinking it, then you’re believing it.'”

Kenny also asserted the importance of mental toughness and the need to have a solid “life coach.” 

“If Bubba’s thinking he needs to be replaced, then it’s gonna happen. So he’s got to get him a life coach, I know Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin are like, ‘what!’ Because Bubba is driving for two of the most mentally strong people in athleticism today,” Kenny said.

What really happened to Bubba at the Circuit of the Americas?

The much-anticipated race on Sunday quickly turned grim for Bubba as the race ended too soon for him.

The incident happened at the end of a long straightway at turn 12. Bubba Wallace’s brakes locked up too late and he couldn’t slow the #23 down in time. He bumped the right rear of Kyle Larson‘s #5. Though Larson survived only to be wrecked again later, it was curtains for Bubba. Following his early exit from the race, Bubba voiced his dejection on live tv.

While fans and teammates came to console the driver, fans had to witness a heartbroken and dejected Bubba going back.
