The proud Toyota camp has not only been consistent with talented drivers like Tyler Reddick and the peculiar Bubba Wallace.
While the team’s larger-than-life owners and its giant partners like McDonald’s and DoorDash have brought thousands of eyeballs to the team, its #23 driver, Bubba Wallace has also attracted quite the attention due to his dramatic antics. Despite his rather amusing stints at times, Wallace still remains a big player on the team.
Recently, ahead of his much-anticipated race at the coveted road course in Sonoma County, Wallace has revealed the big name he’d like to see in the #67 Camry and guess what, Wallace was spot on for his “role model” while his #45 teammate, Reddick acknowledged Wallace’s witty and quick reply.

While the #45 road course expert, Tyler Reddick had to go out of the race due to a catastrophic brake failure that meant the end of the line for the #45 car at lap 174 when it forced the car into the outside wall.
On the other hand, Wallace also had a similar fate. The #23 Camry also had a brake failure that caused the car to go out of control and into the wall. While both ace cars had their days ruined by bad luck, ahead of their highly anticipated race at Sonoma Raceway, both drivers joined the pre-race presser where Wallace revealed his wish to see his “role model” Lewis Hamilton, behind the wheel of the #67 car.

When the Frontstretch reporter asked, “Who are the big names you would like to see in the #67 car?” A witty Wallace said, “Lewis(Hamilton)” as the Alabama native clearly expressed his desire to see the Formula 1 champ and his favorite driver pilot the #67 Camry for his team.

Despite having a three-car setup, the #67 Camry is currently driven by part-timer, Travis Pastrana, the super popular stunt driver and daredevil. Taking things up a notch, the team recently teased its new driver from World Endurance Championship, Kamui Kobayashi a certified bada** who was among the three drivers who won the 2021 24 hours of Le Man for Toyota Gazoo Racing.
With another road racing expert in the camp, Toyota fans literally celebrated the news wholeheartedly as the surprise turned out to be a well-deserved opportunity for Kobayashi, as he will pilot the #67 car at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 13.
And now with Wallace’s befitting response going viral, fans were quick to comment with suggestions. The community reminded Wallace about his former teammate, Kurt Busch who had to retire from the premier series due to the vicious concussion he received during qualifying at Sonoma in 2022.
