NASCAR is one such sport where drivers compete from a very early age till the prime age of sixty. For these drivers, “age is just a number” and they believe it is the wiil that matters the most when it comes to the intricacies of racing. While NASCAR has reduced the age criteria to 16 to compete in the Truck Series, but it’s only for tracks 1.25 miles and less.

However, the age requirement for competing in higher formats like Xfinity and Cup Series is 18. Owing to this fact, the present season has witnessed a unique difference in the age gaps among the drivers. While the oldest of the lot is Stewart-Haas Racing’s, Kevin Harvick, and the youngest is Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs, who is just 20 years old.

But the imminent question is, why the sudden curiosity about the ages of the drivers? Well, the answer lies in NASCAR’s latest video on Twitter.

Bubba Wallace fails to identify his team boss from his childhood days

The whole of NASCAR fandom was exhilarated by the fact that NASCAR returned to North Wilkesboro for the first time after 26 years with the All-Stars Race. But hardly did the fans realize that many of the many the drivers who are competing in the present season—including Todd Gilliard and Harrison Ford—were not even born when Cup drivers last raced here, while many others were still in their cradles.

And this is what the NASCAR authorities put to use on the latest episode of the Director’s Cut, as a way of commemorating the last race that took place at the venue back in 1996. The memories of the drivers were put to the test, as they were shown pictures of famous personalities and characters from back in the day.

While the video was quite an interesting one, the most interesting part of it was when Bubba Wallace and the other participating drivers were shown the gaffe of Michael Jordan and had to identify the film.

Some of Wallace’s contemporaries, like Chase Elliott easily identified the picture and referred to, “Oh it was Looney Toons movie.”

But the 23XI Racing driver had the funniest and the most surprising answer. Wallace revealed, “That? What was that? I don’t know who that is, Bugs Bunny, Bill Murray. I don’t guy, who the other guy is” He also added “Is that loving basketball.”

The people on the other end of the camera were taken aback by the answer, “I am surprised that you don’t know it.” They also added, “Christopher Bell has seen it.”

To this, the #23 Camry driver replied, “Are you f***ing kidding me.”

Well, whether Wallace’s answers were deliberate or just a part of his tomfoolery, is up to the fans to decide.
