Amidst the rumors surrounding NASCAR trying to find a new broadcasting deal in the near future, there are new rumors of the sport looking for another partner in an entirely different aspect. That aspect is its official game.

Currently, NASCAR has a partnership with Motorsports Games, the company that produces its official game. But according to journalist Mike Straw, the agreement with Motorsports Games could soon come to an end.

“BREAKING: Multiple sources have told me that #NASCAR is actively looking to get out of its agreement with Motorsports Games, and move the NASCAR game license to a different developer & publisher,” Straw’s tweet read.

Motorsports Games wanted more growth with NASCAR in 2022

Earlier this year, Dmitry Kozko, the CEO of Motorsports Games, had spoken about his plans with NASCAR for the current year.

“We are excited about this technical partnership because it will provide us with even more access to the real-life NASCAR grid throughout the 2022 racing season,” Kozko said.

He described that they’re inspired to create the largest community of virtual racers. “With its independent view on all virtual racing experiences available, it allows us to demonstrate that we didn’t launch traxion.gg to promote our products, but because we truly care for the genre as a whole and we want to highlight exciting things within the genre, even if they are not created by Motorsport Games,” Kozko added.
