This coming weekend is set to be a memorable one for NASCAR fans. The drivers have geared up to rev up their engines and hit the bumpy streets of Chicago. While the track poses its own set of challenges, the drivers are ready to traverse through the unchartered tracks of street racing.

It is not just the race that is the main attraction of the event for NASCAR fans, but the pre-race pageantries and performances also seem pretty interesting. Celebrated musicians like the Chainsmokers and Miranda Lambert are set to entertain the fans during the race weekend.

Amid all the Chicago excitement, Dale Earnhardt Jr took up an interesting challenge with the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Dale Earnhardt Jr Chooses His Favorite Baseball Team Ahead of the Inaugural Race at Chicago’s Downtown

After a career spanning multiple decades, Dale Earnhardt Jr has become an indispensable part of the Oval tracks. With more than a fair share of victories, including two Daytona wins, the insights given by the co-owner of JR Motorsports are surely nothing less than divine. He had exclaimed the fact that he had not ever witnessed anything like the tracks of Chicago.

In a test run ahead of the main event, the former Cup Series driver had exclaimed, We want to put drivers through some of the toughest challenges we can and I think this track will do that. There’ll be some guys that really like it. There will be some guys that find it really challenging and miserable.”

Nevertheless, with the race just around the corner, Dale Jr took up the challenge of Fast 10 with NASCAR’s Xfinity series. The official Instagram page of the series posted the video with the caption “Ready for #NASCARChicago this weekend on @nascaronnbc. Check out @dalejr’s “Fast 10” for the Windy City. Don’t think he’ll be grabbing a deep dish.”

While Junior preferred New York-style pizza over deep-pan pizza, oceans over lakes, and energy drink over coffee, the option that seemed to rest all controversies, was his choice of baseball team.

Within the option of Cubs and White Sox, the co-owner of JR Motorsports chose neither, because he revealed, “I am an Atlanta Braves fan.”

This news is sure to upset the Chicago fans ahead of the NASCAR race. Nevertheless, the driver is set to make his appearance as the NASCAR analyst for NBC on Sunday.

Nonetheless, Dale Jr, in an interview published by the Detroit News, shared his thoughts about driving on the street track and the possible challenges that drivers could face while driving.

He divulged, “It’s full of challenges. I think, for me, cresting over the hill, over the bridge into Turn 7 will be tough. It’s blind coming up over the hill and then as soon as the car lands, you’re going to have to be in the braking zone. There are some funnels or choke points where the track gets very narrow, goes from a very wide straightaway into this narrow, tight corner.”

There is going to be some implications and consequences that won’t be thought about, won’t be prepared for and that will experience some intense, great moments for us to see. Teams and drivers are going to go through adversity that none of us have ever watched happen before and I expect it to be like that,” Junior concluded.
