Success never comes easy. Chase Elliott has had an amazing career so far and is one of the most popular names in the motorsports world. He made history in 2020 when he won the NASCAR Cup series—taking Hendrick Motorsports back to the top after 2016. In doing so, he also became the third-youngest driver to win the Cup title.

The 27-year-old has already been awarded the NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver award five times in his career. Chase has had 18 wins in the Cup Series so far—seven of them coming on road courses. He also has five Xfinity Series wins and three victories to his name in the Craftsman Truck Series. A man with so much success at a young age must have a stellar mentality, right? The Georgia-born driver recently shared his success mantra.

But I think when you put yourself in contention, I think you’re setting yourself up to have a lot more fun than not.
“Even on the days that doesn’t necessarily go perfect or go your way, to be competitive, to be in the fight, to be amongst those top four or five guys each and every week, that to me is a good sign and one that typically indicates you are gonna have opportunities and eventually some of them are gonna go your way.”

Being the son of 1988 Winston Cup Series Champion Bill Elliott must have added an extra bit of pressure on Chase. Seeing Chase achieve what he has so far must make him proud and rightly so.

With the new NASCAR season around the horizon, the excitement among the fans is visible.
