A man of his word, NASCAR champion, Kyle Larson, did make his way to F1’s last race of the season in Abu Dhabi. There the Hendrick driver was spotted talking to two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso and with Sergio Perez.

Hey, if I’m there then I might as well get into a car,” this is what Kyle Larson had to say about him going to the F1 race. The way things have developed, it seems the NASCAR Cup Series champion would’ve found a way into an F1 car if not for one thing. Larson, who has expressed his excitement many times about racing in Formula 1, made his way to the final race of the season.

A few weeks ago, he had said, “I’m really excited, I’ve never been to an F1 race before.”

The Hendrick driver also described his welcomeness for any team that would let him put in some few laps or a test in Abu Dhabi. “If there’s a team that will let me, I would pack my helmet bag right now. Head there, go get some laps.”

As it turned out, there is an F1 team and there is a vacant place for a driver. The thing is, Haas’ driver, Nikita Mazepin, has been ruled out from the race after testing positive for COVID. And would you know it, Kyle Larson was spotted having a chat with Haas Principal Gunther Steiner. An emergency replacement, maybe?

The man from Elk-Grove certainly has the wits and bits to drive that Haas around the Yas Marina Circuit for sure.

Yet, coming back to reality, the most Larson can hope for during his meet and greet with personalities from the F1 paddock is gaining a better understanding of the sport.

Will we ever see Kyle Larson racing in Formula 1?

Now, the bad news is that the NASCAR champ doesn’t yet have a Super License. But the good news is, that he is only 22 points away from his Super License. So, Kyle Larson driving an F1 car?
