The world of NASCAR continues to entertain viewers inside and outside the stadiums. Racers provide excitement at the tracks, and social media keeps fans interested between races. This week, Bob Pockrass tweeted about the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona this week. In doing so, Pockrass, a FOX Sports reporter, slipped up in the caption, and hilarity ensued in the comments section.

It was especially amusing for fans to catch this after the chaotic FOX reporting at the Sonoma Raceway. FOX has been reporting on NASCAR for over two decades, with 13 Emmy award wins for its coverage. However, the quality of reporting this year did not match its hay days, with Mike Joy incorrectly announcing the winner. In these circumstances, another FOX reporter posting an incorrect caption only adds fuel to the fire.

Jeb Burton, the Xfinity driver for Jordan Anderson Racing, has been competing this season with the No. 27 Chevrolet Camaro. He revealed that at Daytona, he will race in a No. 22 yellow Chevy akin to the Caterpillar model driven by his father. In a touching tribute to Ward Burton, Jeb posted his father will ride alongside him in the car.

Die-hard fans treasure Ward Burton’s car as NASCAR memorabilia, considering it an invaluable collectible. Fans are enthusiastic about buying parts modeled after the car and it even has its own toy range. It’s not surprising that Jeb’s post generated a wave of nostalgia and excitement.

Therefore, Bob Pockrass was quick to spread the news of Burton’s tribute. However, he incorrectly captioned it as ‘Jeb Button’s car for the Xfinity race at Daytona’.

Pockrass ended up mixing the names of Jeb Burton and F1 Champion Jenson Button. And, fans were quick to notice the error.

The comment section of Pockrass’s Tweet had a field day with the goof-up. Even certified accounts did not miss out on the fun by giving another combination of the names of the two racers.

Another commenter humorously asked whether the British racer needs to time in to qualify for the Daytona race.

“Does Jeb have to time in to make the race?”

“Jensons lost brother”

But among these laughs, there was a genuine appreciation for Jeb’s gesture for Ward Burton And the effort put by Jeb’s team into this stunning car.
