With the Super Bowl wrapping up last week, it is time for the Daytona 500 to take the spotlight. The hype was already building for the ‘Great American Race.’ In light of that, professional gamer Dr. Disrespect made it clear that he is a Bubba Wallace fan.

Before the race, the gamer tweeted a picture of some 23XI merchandise, no doubt ascertaining his loyalty. Safe to say, the 23XI Racing driver acknowledged his fan and gave him a shout out on Twitter.

It is well-known that the Daytona 500 is one of the most well-known races in America. So, it is no surprise that the gamer was eager to watch the iconic race. Coming back to Wallace, though, the African-American driver was in fine form throughout the weekend. It is safe to say that he was considered a dark horse for the 500.

Unfortunately, the race weekend did not get off to a great start. Apparently, the 23XI car failed pre-race inspection, twice. As a result, Bubba Wallace was relegated to the rear for Sunday’s Daytona 500. In addition to that, NASCAR also ejected the team’s car chief.

On the bright side, the Toyota car passed on its third attempt. Unfortunately, it was a touch too late and Wallace has to suffer the consequences. To be precise, he was forced to give up his hard-earned sixth starting spot in his debut with 23XI Racing.

Apparently, Cole Custer, William Byron, Ross Chastain, Brad Keselowski, and Chase Briscoe also got in trouble. In addition to that, Kaz Grala, Anthony Alfredo, Martin Truex Jr., and Erik Jones got hauled up as well. To make matters worse for Jones, he also has to start from the rear at next weekend’s race on the Daytona road course.

In the race, Wallace was involved in a massive crash on the last lap, which saw many cars go up in flames. Luckily, all drivers, including Wallace, survived without big injuries. The 23XI Racing star finished the race in 17th place.
