Earlier, the Daytona 500 wrapped up with rookie driver Austin Cindric winning the race. Meanwhile, The Money Team’s Kaz Grala ended the race in 26th place in what was a relatively decent finish for the outfit’s debut race.
Recently, the 23-year-old spoke about his team’s immediate future in the current season. According to him, the #50 will likely run a handful of races in 2022. Kaz Grala even dropped a major hint about his next Cup Series gig with Floyd Mayweather’s NASCAR team. He said, “I don’t know exactly. I’ve been hearing rumors of maybe COTA throughout the team. Maybe that’s going to be the next one we’re at. I hope it is, I love that place. Hopefully you’ll see us out here a handful of times this year.”

How did the race pan out for Kaz Grala?
Admittedly, the 23-year-old had a rough day at the office. At one point, his right rear wheel came off the car and rolled away from the three-wheel wagon. Somehow, he managed to limp his way back to the pit lane and change tires to continue the race. Of course, he lost a lot of ground while he nursed the car to the pit road.

However, instead of throwing in the towel, he soldiered on and tried to mount a comeback. In the end, he could only muster 26th place, which was actually an impressive run, considering the day he had. Already he had a difficult weekend when he lost the draft in the closing laps of the duel race. Things got further complicated when he notched up a pit road speeding penalty. Luckily, he managed to cling to a group of lead lap cars and moved past JJ Yeley for a coveted spot in the Daytona 500.
In the race itself, the detached wheel caused a major headache for The Money Team. This is because the outfit got fined for the on-track hazard. Of course, this will also mean that the team will have a few suspended members for the next race. For now, they will be thanking their lucky stars that it wasn’t much worse than it already was.
