2020 has been a great year for Japanese star Naomi Osaka. After a long struggle with form, the World No. 3 finally played her best tennis and won the US Open title. Unfortunately, she didn’t play a single event after that but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t busy.
Recently, Naomi was announced as the guest editor of a special issue with I-D Japan. She is glad to be working with them and she talked about this collaboration in a recent Instagram post.
“2020 has been quite a year for all of us. In many ways, it’s been a really really hard year but I think it also opened up a lot of our eyes to things that need to change right now. For me personally, I realize that I can use my platform as an athlete to bring attention to issues I care about… I know I am not the only one that feels this way so I am very excited to be working with Nike and I-D Japan as a guest editor,” said Osaka.

The Japanese star has some great memories there as she won the title back in 2019. Unfortunately, she failed to defend it in 2020, which is why she wants to win it next year. Hopefully, she will be able to do that when the event begins in January.
