The Suns vs Nuggets game had a celebrity presence in the arena tonight. Electronic duo, The Chainsmokers, were in attendance hand-in-hand with Mat Ishbia, owner of the Phoenix Suns. The Denver Nuggets managed to subdue a Devin Booker-less Suns with a 119-111 victory. Kevin Durant, despite the loss, landed a double-double.

The famous DJ and production duo have a connection with Durant and his nickname, the Slim Reaper. Though not directly affiliated with it, one of their songs managed to catch strays.

Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall arrived to show their support for the Suns. Pall was wearing a Suns jersey, just in case anyone had any doubts.

Their song, The Reaper, released in 2019, made quite the waves. The brooding tones and the lyrics resonated with a large crowd internationally. Not to mention the infectious beats that the Chainsmokers are famously known for blended to create a seamless experience for listeners.

It didn’t take long for many fans to mesh the Slim ‘Reaper’ with The Reaper of the American music duo. Anyway, they got to see the action Closer tonight. Maybe they even got a selfie with the “Reaper” himself. Here’s to hoping for an image of the ‘Reaper’ trio.

Nuggets vs Suns

Denver and Phoenix were evenly matched. With key players missing on both teams – Booker and Beal with the Suns, and Murray and Gordon with the Nuggets – it was a hard-fought battle. A large part of the night saw Nikola Jokic set up baskets with passes.

By the fourth quarter, the Suns made the efforts difficult. Jokic jumped back onto the scoring bandwagon leaving the night with 21 points, 16 assists, and five rebounds. Arizona, on the other hand, had a 17-point deficit by halftime. They closed the gap by taking the lead 94-91 in the fourth.

Jusuf Nurkic led the scoreboard for the Suns with 31 points. With 45 seconds remaining, he was hit with a foul, which got upgraded to Flagrant 1, leaving Jokic with two free throws. The Serbian hit one of the two, taking the lead to 115-111.

It was followed by a brilliant layup, shooting over three Suns defenders, sealing Colorado’s win. The Nuggets will be facing the Kings on Saturday night. Phoenix will host Memphis the same night at Footprint Center.
