Adesanya improved his UFC record to 18 wins without a single loss in his career. The former kickboxer’s success has taken the entire UFC by surprise, and it didn’t keep other fighters away from noticing his accomplishments. One among these fighters was the current UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.
Jon Jones took notice of Israel Adesanya’s rise from joining the company two years back, to holing the UFC gold right now. Jones tweeted following Adesanya’s victory over Whittaker and has repeatedly called out Adesanya on the social networking site. Jones’ attack on the current middleweight champion has also raised the idea of a super-fight between both the fighters.

Adesanya sends a scathing reply to Jon Jones
Adesanya appeared on ESPN to talk about his plan for 2020 going forward. He discussed Jon Jones and the potential match-up, the war of words is leading to, for both the fighters. However, he gave prominence for his title belt first and wishes to defend it next.
In reply to Jon Jones’ comments on Adesanya during the press conference for UFC 247, Adesanya has fired back with a befitting reply.

“He can say whatever he wants to say, I can say the same thing. I can say whatever I want but it’s all words. Eventually, when we see each other, we will see each other. I still have never seen me and him in the same room together. I wonder why. But eventually, we will see each other at some point, and he’s going to have to see me like everybody else does.”

Adesanya is targeting a championship match against former title contender Yoel Romero. Originally scheduled to face Paulo Costa (Injury) for the UFC middleweight championship, Adesanya seems confident to take on the Soldier of God.
While the ultimate match-up between Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya is not too far in the future, he feels more responsibility towards his title belt. Additionally, Jon Jones will defend his light heavyweight championship against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.
