On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Lindsey Vonn penned down a heartwarming note dedicated to her mother and grandmother. Both the strong, resilient women have played an important role in raising Lindsey, making her the exemplary athlete and human she is today.

Her mother, Linda Krohn, and grandmother have been Lindsey’s inspiration throughout these years. They have been her rock and her constant support in both her professional and personal journey. Even through multiple injuries during her career, Vonn’s mother has been by her side all along.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Vonn paid tribute to her support systems, revealing how much they have inspired her, constantly encouraged her, and given her that extra push.

To all the strong women out there!

Vonn took to Instagram to share the gratitude she felt towards her mother and grandmother. Paying a deserving tribute, she revealed how both of them have been an inspiration to her and how she has always looked up to them.

“Here’s to all of the strong women who inspire us every day to keep breaking glass ceilings. My mother and grandmother were my inspirations,” wrote Vonn.

She further expresses how they taught her to stand up for herself and never back down. They taught her to not give up.

“They set an example for me of what a kind and a companionate person should be. That no matter what adversity you face, to never stop being positive and never stop believing,” she said.

Even though her father was the one who taught Lindsey skiing, Lindsey hails her strength and resistance to the credit of her mother and grandmother.

Rightly so, Lindsey now wishes to take it upon herself and pass down these very lessons to the next generation. Teaching what her mother and grandmother taught her, she hopes to carry forward this legacy.

“Today I am reminded to continue to pass down the lessons I’ve learned from them. To keep encouraging the next generation to be even greater… because anything is possible if you believe,” wrote Lindsey.
