Novak Djokovic won’t be playing in the US Open. The 35-year-old maintains a stern stance over the Covid-19 vaccination. His refusal to get jabbed had him missing the Australian Open earlier. Playing in only two Grand Slam events this year, he won the Wimbledon Championships. However, many of his fans were behind the Serb, petitioning the US government to let him play in the last Grand Slam of the year.

People gave mixed opinions on his participation. While many rued his absence, a few believe it is the price that the Serb has to pay for his decision. Now Pete Sampras’ biography author Peter Bodo has also jumped into the discussion.
Bodo slams Novak Djokovic and his fans
As the Serb announced his withdrawal from the tournament, his fans reacted angrily to the US government guidelines. Taking a shot over Djokovic and his fans, Bodo took to his Twitter account and wrote, “What don’t @DjokerNole and his fans get about the simple transaction we all make hundreds of times in everyday life: “In order to do this, you need to do this first.”

Back when a young Djokovic was making his early strides in the tennis world, he got an offer to become a British citizen. Notably, the 35-year-old does not come from a financially affluent background. Djokovic’s family had to face a tough time in his early days.
This move could have easily solved all those problems. However, the Serb decided to stick to his country and today he is a national hero. While the legend believes that it could have helped him at that stage of life but he is happy that life has just arranged things.
