Rafael Nadal revealed his thoughts on a role model’s conduct off the court. He believes that being famous comes with a set of responsibilities and brings with itself a code of conduct.
Speaking to a local Spanish daily on how he feels about being a role model to so many people worldwide, he said, “I believe that all of us who are popular, who appear on television, to say the least, must be very responsible, because there are many people you can influence, for better and for worse and, therefore, we must take care of our behavior, our words.”
The Spaniard also feels the need to be natural because that is something one carries on-court and also off it. “I try to act naturally, you cannot be a marketing product.

“I don’t pretend to like everyone. What’s more, I think that’s impossible. I try to be correct with everyone, educated and, above all, thank life for the positive and good things that happen to me,” he further added.
Rafael Nadal And His Simplicity
Rafael Nadal further mentioned that his success is heavily dependent on the kind of life he leads off the court.
He believes that the simplicity in his lifestyle helped him in his career and also provided emotional stability in handling things in a better way.
“That emotional stability, that normal, simple daily life, has also helped me keep my feet on the ground and not go crazy when I won or see everything negative after a defeat,” he added.
The fact that he stuck to his roots, his family, and his surroundings has helped him stay grounded both in victory and defeat.
Rafael Nadal is currently preparing for the Rolex Paris Masters in his hometown in Spain. He will tee off at the Balearic Golf Championship, after which he will travel to Paris for the tournament.
