Activision Blizzard recently made some enormous changes during the company’s recent investors call. The company has faced a lot of trouble recently following a lawsuit filed by the state of California. The lawsuit alleges that the company has a toxic frat boy culture with many employees facing a lot of harassment.
The investor call talked a lot about this while discussing the recent management shuffle. Blizzard will now have two co-heads in Mike Ybarra and Jen Oneal, who will take over from former president J Allen Barack. The two assured the fans and the investors about the company’s future with the steady development of new titles, including Overwatch 2 and multiple Diablo games.

Blizzard working on improving franchises like Diablo and Overwatch
Jen Oneal responded to some questions during the Q&A portion of the Activision Blizzard Q2 2021’s Financial Investor Call. She was asked about improving the morale of employees following a recent walkout from them amidst the legal troubles. Oneal responded by saying she has had a great time working with these employees. Along with that, she also claimed that games like Overwatch 2 and multiple titles from the Diablo franchise have seen significant progress as well.
“I’ve had the privilege of working closer with the Diablo and Overwatch teams. I’m seeing great progress on Overwatch 2 and the multiple games in the Diablo universe.”
Oneal later explained that they want to broaden the horizons of the company by expanding the developmental teams. She said that she wants to implement the plans of Blizzard executives Daniel Alegre and Bobby Kotick to look more into recruiting talent for the company.
“We are expanding these teams. We’re doubling down on our development recruiting as we expand the scope and vision of our franchises.”

Improvement in the culture
Oneal later mentioned that they will apply some changes in the culture to improve the morality of the employees in Blizzard. She observed they still have a long way to go. But, she will put the work in making sure that the employees in her company feel safe and supported, because the rest will play out like it’s meant to be.
“There’s a lot of work ahead of us but the passion and productivity are already here, and when our people feel safe and supported, the rest is going to take care of itself.”
