The Portuguese manager who lost 37-year old Didier Drogba at the end of the last season is in a hunt for a new striker and Falcao is one of the not-so-many options he has.

The Premier League Champions’ manager, in an interview to a South American TV said that it “hurts” him that the British football public have got the wrong impression of the Colombia striker, and wants to help him regain his prolific form.
Mourinho believes he can help him return to the prolific form he showed at Porto and Atletico Madrid.
He has now confirmed as much in public, telling DirecTv Sports: “It really hurts me that people in England believe that Falcao is the guy they saw at Manchester United.
“He’s a player I know, one that I’ve followed since Atletico Madrid and if I can help Falcao arrive at his level I will do it.”

United did not take up the option-to-buy clause in the Colombian’s one-year loan deal from Monaco after he failed to make a positive impact for The Red Devils.
