The Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho believes that the star loanee of last season in Manchester United, Radamel Falcao is portrayed very negatively by the English media and is much better than what he is projected to be. He also believes that he has the potential and the capability to get the best out of the Colombian striker.
He was quoted saying “He’s a player I know, one that I’ve followed since Atletico Madrid and if I can help Falcao arrive at his level I will do it.” “But, whether at Chelsea or at another club, I would like very much for his guy to be able to show the English people what they don’t know about him.” Even after a sour season with the Red Devils, Falcao is supposedly interested in continuing his stay at England, in the Premier League, and Chelsea do not want to let him slip off their hands. This comes after United didn’t feel it necessary to activate the option-to-buy clause after the end of the season, and he has now returned to Monaco FC.
His form has been abysmal, even though with 4 goals in 26 games for the striker. He is also said to be ready to accept wage lower than that at Manchester United, which was around £265,000 a week.
Falcao is one of the strikers the Portuguese manager seeks to add to his team to compensate for their star man and club legend Didier Drogba. Falcao, just like him is a poacher. Extra brownie points for playing in both Spain and Portugal could help him seal the striker position at the London side.
